Engineering Team Lead Job Description

The role of Engineering Team Lead involves driving our engineering efforts, collaborating with product and design teams, and shaping the technical roadmap.

  • Lead engineering efforts, working closely with product and design teams to support product discovery, customer engagement, and business strategy.
  • Recruit, manage, mentor, and coach engineers within the team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Owning rituals and processes within the team, ensuring seamless communication and efficient workflow.
About You

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Team Lead with 5+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably as a technical leader. Your expertise should span across various technologies, including React, Node JS, Typescript, Java, Python, Postgres, CDK, and AWS (or another cloud provider).

Experience designing, building, deploying, and operating complex applications is required. Additionally, you should be entrepreneurial, product-focused, experimental, curious, and kind.

You will be comfortable testing and iterating on ideas using a structured approach, assessing multiple solutions for a problem with various implementation approaches.

Data-driven recommendations will guide your decisions, and leadership skills will enable you to prioritize work, drive a team technically and commercially, and support their growth and development.

In this role, you will have ownership over technical decisions, architecting and designing scalable, reliable, and secure systems.

Experimentation, designing experiments, trying new approaches to solve problems, talking to customers, doing discovery, sitting alongside product and design, and implementing solutions will be key aspects of this job.
