Mental Health Clinician First Episode Psychosis 25+
Work as a Mental Health Clinician in our Acute Care Team, providing evidence-based interventions and supporting consumers in their recovery journey.
This role involves working with multidisciplinary teams to improve clinical outcomes and empower consumers to achieve their goals.
As a Mental Health Clinician, you will work closely with consumers, families, and carers to develop and implement individualized care plans that promote optimal health and wellbeing.
The successful applicant will have a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic team environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide best practice and evidence-based interventions to support consumers transition to the least restrictive environment.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to evaluate clinical outcomes and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
- Empower and support consumers in their recovery journey through effective assessment, formulation, and treatment of psychosis and other mental health problems.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans that promote optimal health and wellbeing.
- Build strong relationships with consumers, families, and carers to ensure comprehensive support and understanding.
- Full registration with relevant AHPRA boards, or eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers, or a health science or applied science bachelors degree in leisure, recreation or diversional therapy recognised by the Diversional Therapy Association of Australian National Council.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in a minimum of two evidence-based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Action Commitment Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, etc.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the assessment, formulation, and treatment of psychosis and other mental health problems and family relationship issues.
- Relevant clinical mental health experience in a community setting, including working with young people and their families.
- High level of communication skills, both verbal and written, and a demonstrated ability to work with both independently and with a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated experience in managing consumers with a first episode psychosis.
- Current unrestricted NSW driver's license.
