Project Officer Job Description

Federal Government roles are currently available for APS5 Project Officers in Geelong VIC. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in developing high-quality policy advice and resolving complex enquiries.

  • Policy Development:

You will be responsible for developing evidence-based operational policy and advice, planning resources including Operational Guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures, practice guides, letters, forms and tips.

  • Developing and implementing operational policy and advice to support the delivery of government programs and services.
  • Planning and managing resources to ensure effective service delivery and project outcomes.
  • Service Delivery Expertise:

As a skilled practitioner, you will provide technical system advice and procedural guidance around Scheme strategy, practice implementation and operational matters.

  • Providing expert advice on technical systems and procedures to ensure compliance with government policies and regulations.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to achieve project and business outcomes.
  • Collaboration and Monitoring:

Working closely with the team, you will collaborate to achieve project and business outcomes and monitor and review project activities against plans.

  • Collaborating with colleagues to identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes to enhance service delivery.
  • Monitoring and reviewing project activities to ensure they are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standard.
  • Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience in a similar role or within policy highly desirable.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Relevant qualifications/education highly desirable.
  • IT proficiency including MS Office, Excel, Outlook.
  • Ability to analyse information with a high attention to detail.

This is a 12 month temporary full-time assignment with the potential to extend. You will need to be an Australian Citizen and show proof of your COVID-19 vaccination status.
