Senior Policy and Operations Lead

We are a dynamic team within the Department of Home Affairs, responsible for administering Australia's permanent and temporary migration programs. We drive business reforms across the group by supporting greater collaboration across immigration policy and enabling functions.
Job OverviewThis is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Policy and Operations Lead. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and managing policy initiatives that shape the future of Australia's migration system.
Key Responsibilities- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver complex policy projects, ensuring timely and effective outcomes.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness across the department.
- Provide expert advice on immigration policy and legislation, contributing to the development of informed decision-making.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional who can lead our team with confidence and expertise. You will have a proven track record of success in policy development, project management, and team leadership.
You must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels. Your analytical and problem-solving skills will be essential in navigating complex policy issues and identifying innovative solutions.
Requirements- Be an ongoing EL1 employee in the APS.
- Possess well-developed leadership skills, particularly in a high tempo environment.
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Display good judgement and attention to detail in making lawful decisions.
