The Role
Ventia is seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or Diesel Fitter to support our team working on the Defence maintenance contract. This position will see you join our Vehicle Mechanical Crew working across the workshop floor maintaining a range of Defence vehicle fleets.
This is a full-time permanent role, working Monday – Friday, with a 38-hour week and some overtime available. You will be based at Palmer Barracks in South Guildford.
To be considered for this position, you must be an Australian Citizen and willing to undergo a police check.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled servicing and vehicle inspections to ensure the highest level of vehicle reliability and performance.
- Diagnose and repair vehicle faults, using your technical expertise to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
- Repair or replace worn or faulty parts by removing assemblies such as engines, transmissions and differentials, and reassembling, testing, cleaning and adjusting repaired or replaced parts.
- Carry out minor body repairs and minor trim repairs to maintain the appearance and integrity of Defence vehicles.
Requirements
- Trade Certificate III as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or Diesel Fitter.
- Current WA HR Driver's License.
- Certificate II Automotive Air Conditioning or willingness to obtain.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
