,The role of a Senior Health and Safety Advisor is to oversee the implementation and management of health and safety policies and procedures across various operations. This involves leading a team of advisors, medics, and coordinators, as well as collaborating with other departments to ensure a safe working environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing health and safety strategies to mitigate risks and enhance the safety culture.
- Maintaining accurate records and reports on safety performance, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
- Conducting investigations into incidents and near-misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Providing coaching and mentoring to direct reports, promoting their professional development and growth.
- Auditing operations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role within the resources industry.
- Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or related fields.
- Demonstrated expertise in risk management principles and control measures.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence others and drive change.
