About the School

Mackay Northern Beaches State High School is a dynamic and growing educational institution located in the Northern Beaches area of Mackay, approximately 10km from the city centre.

The school is seeking a dedicated and forward-thinking Deputy Principal to join its progressive Leadership Team from 2025.

About the Role

This position is ideal for an energetic and future-focused individual who can balance the complexities of this multifaceted role to positively impact student learning outcomes and destinations for senior school students.

The successful applicant will possess strong relational capabilities to ensure successful whole-school strategic leadership within the Executive Team.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead teaching and learning, particularly in relation to the implementation of version 9.0 Australian Curriculum and QCAA senior schooling programs.
  2. Develop and implement a One School timetable, as well as supervise and manage staff.
  3. Form partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry, and business.
  4. Effectively lead complex change and manage resources to achieve goals.
  5. Assist the Principal in leading the school community to develop, articulate, and commit to a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for senior school students.
Requirements
  • Experience in leading teaching and learning, particularly in relation to the implementation of version 9.0 Australian Curriculum and QCAA senior schooling programs.
  • Experience in One School timetable development, as well as supervision management.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work effectively and positively as part of a team.
  • Form partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry, and business.
  • Demonstrated capacity to effectively lead complex change.
  • Be organised and manage time effectively.
