Job Description

Technical Expertise

Play a pivotal role in conducting complex asbestos identification, fibre counting, and reviewing results in line with ISO 17025 standards. Drive method development and improvements through continuous innovation and quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct asbestos identification in soil and bulk materials using advanced techniques like PLM
  • Oversee fibre counting using PCM and ensure precision and accuracy in analytical results
  • Approve and finalise client reports after thorough review of analytical results
  • Provide expert technical support to clients on asbestos analysis and safety protocols
  • Develop and deliver training programs for junior analysts and clients on asbestos analysis techniques
  • Administer proficiency testing programs to maintain accreditation compliance and industry standards
  • Drive business growth through process improvements and method development
  • Conduct internal audits and collaborate with external auditors to ensure ongoing accreditation compliance
  • Support the development of junior staff members through mentorship and coaching
  • Ensure strict adherence to WHS, NATA, and ISO 17025 standards in all work activities

Required Skills and Qualifications

We seek a highly experienced asbestos analyst who excels in a technical role and is passionate about building capability in others.

Applicants will have:

  • At least 5 years of experience in asbestos identification and fibre counting
  • Advanced expertise in PLM and PCM techniques
  • Strong understanding of ISO 17025 and NATA accreditation requirements
  • Proven experience in training and mentoring junior analysts
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders
