PHE is seeking a skilled and committed High Voltage Technician to install, inspect and maintain high voltage electrical equipment and systems. The successful candidate will troubleshoot and diagnose issues in high voltage systems and components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, inspect and maintain high voltage electrical equipment and systems.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues in high voltage systems and components.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance to prevent system failures.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement high voltage system upgrades and modifications.
  • Follow safety protocols and adhere to industry standards for high voltage work.
  • Document all work performed, including maintenance reports and equipment logs.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians and apprentices.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in high voltage systems.
Requirements
  • Proven track record in working with high voltage electrical systems.
  • Experience or keen interest in high voltage electrical testing, including HV cable fault locating and testing, partial discharge testing, transformer testing, switchgear maintenance and testing, thermography surveys, protection relay testing, earth testing.
  • Strong familiarity with safety procedures and regulations pertaining to high voltage work.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical fitness and adaptability to work in various environmental conditions.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites and work away from home as required.
Credentials
  • Australian Trade Certification / AQF Cert Level 3 Electro Tech.
  • Electrical License.
  • High Voltage Switching Cert (desirable but not essential).
  • Current CPR/LVR (within the last 9 months).
  • Current Unrestricted C Class Driver's License.
  • White / Blue Construction Card.
