Our team seeks a High Voltage Operations Specialist to ensure the safe operation and maintenance of high voltage electrical systems.

This role is responsible for performing HV switching operations, isolations, and restorations in accordance with site procedures and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of HV systems, including switchgear, transformers, protection schemes, and HV cabling.

The successful applicant will possess practical experience with HV switching and isolation procedures, as well as competence in risk assessment, safe work procedures, and incident response. They will also have the ability to read and interpret single line diagrams, schematics, and protection settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform HV switching operations, isolations, and restorations in accordance with site procedures and safety regulations.
  • Support commissioning and testing activities, including protection relay testing, CT/VT checks, and functional testing.
  • Maintain compliance with electrical safety regulations and company safe work procedures.
  • Work closely with engineers and project managers to ensure safe and efficient execution of works.
Required Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong understanding of HV systems, including switchgear, transformers, protection schemes, and HV cabling.
  • Practical experience with HV switching and isolation procedures.
  • Knowledge of Australian standards, electrical safety regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Competence in risk assessment, safe work procedures, and incident response.
