About this role:

Ventia, in partnership with the Australian Defence Force, are seeking a qualified armourer and mechanical specialist to receive full training and join their team at Robertson Barracks. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining weapons systems and general engineering.

In this role, you will utilise your highly detailed workmanship to inspect, repair, and recondition military hardware. As a qualified armourer and mechanical specialist, it will be your responsibility to provide direct embedded support and teamwork with defence and defence training activities to ensure hardware is functional and training objectives are achieved.

Key responsibilities include performing maintenance, servicing, repairs, and preventative maintenance on military hardware and defence armaments. You will also need to safely operate machinery to repair, manufacture or modify required parts and certify plant and equipment as serviceable and fit for purpose.

Required skills and qualifications include possessing a Trade Certificate III Engineering Mechanical (Fitter & Turner) or Certificate III Engineering Mechanic (General Fitter). Additionally, excellent attention to detail, patience, and teamwork are essential for success in this role. A valid driver's license and physical fitness are also necessary requirements.
