About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Program Support Manager to join our team and lead the successful delivery of the Rural Water Futures Program. This is a key leadership role that requires a high level of expertise in program management, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Rural Water Futures Program (RWF) Program Support Team, providing guidance and expertise on program management methodology, discipline, and best practices.
  • Identify emerging issues and provide expert advice to senior management on complex program management challenges, ensuring the achievement of RWF objectives.
  • Oversee the delivery of RWF projects, establishing and maintaining a Program Management Plan, managing Program risks and issues, budgets, contracts, and risks and issues register.
  • Prepare and/or oversee the preparation of complex Program reports, submissions, briefing notes, presentations, and correspondence for consideration by senior management and executive management.
  • Exercise judgement, authority, and influence to effectively coordinate the management of divisional requirements and competing team priorities.
  • Build and manage positive working relationships and partnerships with colleagues and other levels of government, industry, and non-government organisations to achieve RWF outcomes and deliver on Government commitments.
  • Represent the RWF vision and departmental vision, values, and strategic agenda with clients, stakeholders, and external organisations and other State and Commonwealth agencies.
  • Contribute to departmental resource prioritisation processes to deliver on RWF outcomes.
  • Mentor, coach, and provide advice and guidance to Program Support staff while contributing to their professional development, including monitoring performance and development.
  • Ensure the team is sufficiently equipped with the necessary skills, capabilities, and experience to perform to a high level in order to respond to service delivery requirements and deliverables.
  • Other duties as directed and required.
