Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Practitioner to join our esteemed client's Children in Care and Care Leavers Team in Newcastle.

Our ideal candidate will be responsible for undertaking procedurally compliant assessments and section 47 enquiries, identifying levels and types of risk or need based on documented evidence. They will also record and analyse information gathered during the process of social care assessment in line with case recording policy, local and national guidance, and best practice principles.

The successful candidate will have involvement in the process of taking and recording children's contacts and referrals, contributing to a full understanding of the issues being referred, the relative urgency, level of risk or need, and the action needed in individual cases.

Key Responsibilities
  1. To undertake assessments that clearly identify levels and types of risk or need based on documented evidence.
  2. To record and analyse information gathered during the process of social care assessment in line with case recording policy, local and national guidance, and best practice principles.
  3. To work alongside colleagues in providing social care advice and interventions across Newcastle City Council and all agencies.
  4. To prioritise in line with relative urgency/levels and types of risk and/or need and ensuring that children are safe and that their needs are met.
