Community Engagement Specialist

The Uniting Reconnect Early Intervention Program provides vital support to young people, helping them stabilize their living situation and improve their engagement with family, work, education, training, and community.

This role involves connecting newly arrived young people with educational and employment opportunities, providing individual and family support, and case management to help stabilize living situations and improve connections with culture, family, and community life.

  • To be successful in this role, you will require a tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Welfare, or a related discipline such as a Certificate III or Diploma in Community Services.
  • You must have demonstrated skills and experience working with disempowered and vulnerable people.
  • Able to conduct strength-based assessments, develop intervention plans, community outreach and group work.
  • Proven ability to deliver effective case management for young people and families.
  • Current Working with Children Check and Drivers Licence valid in Victoria required.

Working Arrangements

  • Part-time role (0.6 FTE)
  • Flexible days, except Tuesday when you are required to be in the office.
