
Senior Counsellor for Children and Families

This role involves providing high-quality counselling and support services to children, young people and their families and care systems on an individual and group basis.
About the Role- As a Senior Child and Family Counsellor, you will play a pivotal role in delivering clinical services, professional training and secondary consultation programs based upon up-to-date evidence and theoretical frameworks.
- You will work alongside Aboriginal and other local organisations in the delivery of programs and services.
- Undertake therapeutic assessments using psychometric tools, enhancing understanding, assessment and need of the child or young person.
- Provide therapeutic counselling and support to children, young people and families using client-focused, trauma-informed modalities that support healing from trauma.
- Negotiate and liaise with parents, carers, external stakeholders and government departments.
- Work collaboratively within a team environment and communicate effectively with external partners and stakeholders.
- Professional Qualifications: You must have a tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work or a related discipline.
- Membership: Eligibility for full membership of a relevant professional body.
- Experience: Substantial experience in the area of children abuse and/or working with traumatised children.
- A current Working with Children Check and drivers licence (or equivalent) are essential requirements for this role.
