About the role
The opportunity
Due to an increased demand for services, we are looking to expand our team of specialist Counsellor Advocates in the following areas;
- Counsellor Advocate - Child, Youth and Family
- Counsellor Advocate - Adult and Family
- Counsellor Advocate - Child Youth Adult and Family
- Counsellor Advocate -Afghanistan Community response
These positions will be based at our various offices in Dallas, Sunshine, Dandenong and Ringwood and we are offering between 0.8 - 1 EFT and have ongoing and fixed term roles available.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will meet the following key selection criteria:
- hold a degree in psychology, social work, counselling or relevant discipline
- be experienced in conducting comprehensive biopsychosocial and risk assessments and providing therapeutic interventions
- be experienced in working systemically by advocating on behalf of clients with a range of sectors including health, education, welfare, government and legal
- have demonstrated understanding of trauma informed practice models in working with children, young people, adults and families of a refugee background
- be experienced in a range of approaches in supporting complex cases such as mental health, family violence, substance use issues
- demonstrate a positive, creative, and collaborative approach
Salary and Benefits
We offer a gross annual salary of $101,250, plus 17.5% leave loading and 10.5% superannuation. Additional benefits include salary packaging up to $18,550.
