Position Summary

In the role of Senior Estimator, you will be tasked with developing detailed estimates and cost assessments for clients and prospective clients seeking design and construction solutions for office fitouts. This involves evaluating the necessary materials, labor, and equipment, as well as conducting thorough analyses of cost comparisons among subcontractors and suppliers. Your contributions will be vital during the preconstruction phase, which includes conducting detailed site assessments to evaluate project needs and identify potential risks along with their associated costs.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Fostering and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
  2. Conducting site evaluations to identify and assess construction limitations and risks to ensure precise pricing.
  3. Participating in meetings with clients, sales teams, contractors, and suppliers.
  4. Collaborating with design teams to ensure that design objectives are met.
  5. Preparing estimates that align with client and stakeholder expectations regarding timelines and quality.
  6. Offering recommendations for subcontractor and supplier selections.
  7. Delivering project scopes and budget estimates to project delivery teams, and overseeing the transition of estimating responsibilities.

Candidate Profile

  • A tertiary qualification in Building and Construction, Quantity Surveying, or Project Management at Cert IV level or higher.
  • A minimum of five years' experience in the construction sector as an Estimator, particularly in fit-out and refurbishment projects.
  • A solid understanding of Design & Construct proposals, with experience in budgeting and market tendering.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural and service plans and specifications.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
