Position Summary

In the capacity of Senior Estimator, you will take charge of preparing estimates and cost analyses for clients seeking design and construction solutions for office fitouts. Your responsibilities will encompass evaluating the necessary materials, labor, and equipment, as well as conducting thorough comparisons of subcontractor and supplier costs. Your role will be pivotal during the preconstruction phase, where you will perform detailed site assessments to gauge project needs and pinpoint potential risks along with their associated costs.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Fostering and nurturing strong relationships with colleagues, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
  2. Conducting site inspections to evaluate building constraints and risks for precise pricing.
  3. Engaging in discussions with clients, sales teams, contractors, and suppliers.
  4. Collaborating with design teams to ensure adherence to design objectives.
  5. Delivering estimates that align with client and stakeholder expectations regarding time and quality.
  6. Recommending subcontractors and suppliers based on project needs.
  7. Providing project scopes and budget estimates to delivery teams, overseeing the transition of estimating responsibilities.

Candidate Profile

  • Possession of a tertiary qualification in Building and Construction, Quantity Surveying, or Project Management at Cert IV level or higher.
  • A minimum of five years' experience as an Estimator within the construction sector, specifically in fit-out and refurbishment projects.
  • A solid understanding of Design & Construct proposals, with experience in budget management and market tendering.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural and service plans and specifications.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
