Position Summary

In the capacity of Senior Estimator, you will be tasked with preparing detailed estimates and cost analyses for clients and prospective clients regarding design and construction office fitout projects. This role involves evaluating the necessary materials, labor, and equipment, as well as conducting thorough cost assessments of subcontractors and suppliers. Your contributions will be vital during the preconstruction phase, which includes conducting detailed site evaluations to determine project needs and identify potential risks along with their associated costs.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Fostering and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
  2. Conducting site assessments to pinpoint building constraints and risks to ensure precise pricing.
  3. Engaging in discussions with clients, sales teams, contractors, and suppliers.
  4. Collaborating with design teams to ensure alignment with design objectives.
  5. Delivering estimates that meet client and stakeholder expectations regarding timelines and quality.
  6. Offering recommendations for subcontractor and supplier selections.
  7. Providing project scopes and budget estimates to delivery teams, while overseeing the transition of estimating responsibilities.

Candidate Profile

  • Possession of a tertiary qualification in Building and Construction, Quantity Surveying, or Project Management – Cert IV or higher.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in the construction sector as an Estimator, particularly in fit-out and refurbishment projects.
  • A solid understanding of Design & Construct proposals, along with experience in budget and market tendering.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural and service plans and specifications.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
