About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Consulting Engineer to join our team at Barminco, a leading hard-rock underground mining company. As a key member of our technical services department, you will be responsible for providing expert technical and engineering solutions to support our operations in Australia and overseas.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement technical solutions to improve mine design, scheduling, and drill and blast operations.
  2. Provide technical reviews and cost forecasting to ensure optimal resource allocation.
  3. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  4. Advise on underground mine design, ventilation, and operational optimisations.
  5. Develop and maintain positive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree in mining engineering or equivalent.
  2. Underground Supervisors Certificate of Competency or First Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency.
  3. 2 years of underground experience required.
  4. 5 years of experience in mine design, scheduling, and drill and blast.
  5. Technical report writing skills and effective verbal and written communication.
  6. Deswik software experience is essential.
