The Geotechnical Engineer Role

We are seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our geotechnical team in Perth, Western Australia. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in geotechnical investigation and analysis of foundations, embankments, and cut slopes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise geotechnical site supervision, logging, and mapping.
  • Compile field investigation results for input, leading to the creation of design parameters.
  • Prepare geotechnical reports.
  • Assess slope stability, foundation bearing capacities, and settlements.
  • Assess soil liquefaction and seismic deformation.
  • Design ground improvement.
  • Prepare laboratory testing schedules.
  • Numerical modeling and analysis using programs like Slope/W, Plaxis, and FLAC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering or a higher degree.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant work experience in the civil and mining industry.
  • Understanding of technical aspects of geotechnical investigations, civil/geotechnical designs, documentation, and civil/geotechnical projects.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Proven track record in site project management and client liaison, with ability to maintain relationships with stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Slope/W, Plaxis, FLAC, and AutoCAD software is an advantage.
  • Commitment to travel internationally to project sites if required.
