Wind Energy Specialist

Position Overview

As a Wind Energy Specialist, you will be responsible for remotely operating and monitoring the performance of wind farms from a control center. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the growth of renewable energy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Management:
    • Remotely operate and monitor the performance of wind turbines and substations, ensuring optimal energy production and minimizing downtime.
    • Monitor plant and process operations to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Incident Response:
    • Respond to incidents or programmed works, performing remote manoeuvres as required.
    • Analyze data reflected in tele-control systems and act on controls to maintain power plant operation within established regulations and plans.
  • Communication:
    • Direct communication with team members for coordination of works and notification of serious incidents.
    • Daily contact with stakeholders for reporting of power generation, operational incidents, and other operational data.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
    • Prepare reports for monitoring of production and incidents in the grid.
    • Elaborate dashboards used for revision of indicators (KPIs).
  • Health and Safety:
    • Ensure adherence to general health and safety criteria and regulations defined by the organization.
  • Professional Development:
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in control and monitoring positions.
    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, environmental science).
    • Basic knowledge of practices, functions, and processes related to wind farm operation.
    • Knowledge of the Australian energy market and its regulatory framework.
    • High data analysis capacity.
