Child Development Specialist
We are seeking a nurturing and experienced Childcare Worker to join our team. This role involves more than supervision — you'll actively contribute to children's developmental milestones and foster their curiosity through engaging, age-appropriate experiences.
- Program Delivery & Child Development:
- Design and implement stimulating educational programs aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
- Facilitate intentional teaching moments through play-based activities including storytelling, music, art, and sensory exploration
- Observe and document children's progress to support individual learning goals and share insights with families
- Guide social-emotional development by modelling positive behaviour and conflict resolution strategies
- Daily Care & Wellbeing:
- Maintain high hygiene standards, including nappy changing, toileting assistance, and mealtime supervision
- Create predictable routines that provide children with emotional security while allowing flexibility for spontaneous learning
- Conduct safety checks of indoor and outdoor environments and resources before activities
- Administer first aid when required and follow health management plans for children with additional needs
- Family & Community Engagement:
- Build trusting relationships with families through daily conversations and formal progress updates
- Collaborate with room leaders to create displays that showcase children's learning to parents
- Participate in community events and centre initiatives to strengthen family connections
- Compliance & Professionalism:
- Maintain current working with children check, first aid certification, and relevant qualifications
- Contribute to quality improvement through reflective practice
- Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions
About this Role
