Job Title: International Trade Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to work as an International Trade Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for checking and lodging Formal Import Declarations, mentoring compilers/classifiers, processing and classifying commodities, liaising with customs and regulatory bodies, and performing other duties as specified by their manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Check and lodge Formal Import Declarations in accordance with customs legislation
  • Mentor compilers/classifiers to increase compliance standards
  • Process and classify commodities
  • Liaise with customs and regulatory bodies
  • Indicate errors or inaccuracies with import declarations to team members
  • Check expiry date of registered documents and discharge expired securities
  • Work to achieve KPIs required for each client by ensuring the successful processing of their import clearances

Requirements:

To be successful in this role you must have current customs licenses, including accreditation, extensive experience in international trade, high degree of numeracy, literacy, and analytical skills, commercial focus and excellent customer service skills, adaptable, ethical, and hands-on approach, first-class communication skills - written and verbal, ability to prioritize and time-manage, and attention to detail.
