Key Financial Strategist Opportunity

As a strategic cost allocations specialist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of an iconic Australian institution.

This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with senior business leaders and finance stakeholders to define the strategic enterprise cost allocation framework for the Bank. You will be responsible for delivering timely reporting, in-depth analysis, and actionable insights to ensure financial decisions align with the organisation's objectives and optimise outcomes for the Bank.

You will provide strategic direction and oversight to the development of the strategic framework for enterprise cost allocations, and how this is sustainably embedded in key finance processes and outputs, including strategic planning, budgeting, reporting, and forecasting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic guidance on commercial and financial matters to senior business leaders and Finance stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement effective cost management strategies to achieve organisational objectives.
  • Collaborate with project managers & leaders to review business case financials, ensuring accuracy of costs and benefits, and clarity of underlying drivers and assumptions.
  • Represent Finance in project/program leadership meetings, ensuring financial perspectives are considered in decision-making.
  • Deliver accurate and timely financial reports, analysis, and insights that support strategic decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in building, influencing, and maintaining robust working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Proven track record in providing strategic financial guidance, recommendations, and advice on both strategic priorities and business-as-usual initiatives.
  • Deep experience supporting, influencing, and presenting to non-finance stakeholders, e.g., project Steering Committees, stakeholder leadership teams.
  • Extensive experience with budgeting and forecasting and management reporting systems (such as TM1).
  • Proven ability to deliver results, think proactively, and a determination to take action.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting.
  • Qualified member of a professional accounting body in Australia (or international equivalent).

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of finance principles and practices, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate complex financial information effectively to non-finance stakeholders.
