About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Transfer Station Operator to join our team at Cleanaway. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our transfer station.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain plant and equipment, including loaders and excavators, to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Conduct pre- and post-start checks on plant machinery to ensure safe operation.
  • Drive a variety of HR fleet vehicles, including hooklift and frontlift trucks, to transport waste and recyclables.
  • Direct traffic within the transfer station and provide general information to customers as required.
  • Control the placement of waste and recyclables to maximize resource recovery and meet targets for recycling and diversion from landfill.
  • Perform general laboring and administrative duties as directed by management.

Requirements

  • Loader and excavator experience is desired but not essential.
  • LF forklift license is also desired but not essential.
  • Excellent work ethic and attitude are essential for success in this role.
  • A commitment to safety is a must, as this is a high-risk environment.
  • Clear and concise communication skills are required to communicate effectively via two-way radio.
  • Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical, including a drug and alcohol test.
