WA Country Health Service is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Older Adult Mental Health Team in Albany, Western Australia.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical assessment and treatment for older adults (65+ years) or those with mental illnesses related to aging in the community.
- Liaise and confer regularly with general practitioners and other healthcare professionals.
- Supervise and train medical students and junior doctors, including training registrars.
- Initiate and participate in research projects relevant to the operation of the Mental Health Service.
- Participate in the on-call roster for the mental health team and the ECT roster.
- Eligible for registration by the Medical Board of Australia as a specialist in psychiatry.
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or approved equivalent.
- Extensive clinical experience in older adult mental health.
- Competitive salary package inclusive of 11.5% employer superannuation contributions and generous professional expenses allowance.
- Leave entitlements: 4 weeks annual + additional week, 3 weeks professional development leave (PDL), additional PDL overseas Leave.
- Eligible to benefit from discounts across some private health funds.
- Transfer of some leave entitlements from other WA government, Commonwealth, or any other State of Australia government jurisdictions.
