We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Energy Services team at BlueScope's Port Kembla Manufacturing facility. As a key member of our multidisciplinary engineering team, you will be responsible for providing mechanical engineering solutions for a wide range of medium to large power generation capital projects.
Key Responsibilities- Design and coordinate structural solutions for capital projects.
- Provide technical engineering advice and support to maintenance teams regarding equipment remediation and life extension.
- Manage external consultants to deliver detailed engineering solutions.
- Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor assigned engineering projects.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards, and specifications.
- Deliver engineering solutions and services to agreed schedules.
- Provide quality, cost-effective engineering solutions that meet process functional requirements and operating plant life.
- Collaborate with and provide technical advice to other engineers.
- Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree.
- Experience in applying engineering knowledge within the Power generation industry.
- Proven knowledge and track record of mechanical engineering design, including completion and checking of detailed calculations.
- General knowledge of Inventor and AUTOCAD, as well as other engineering analysis packages.
- Good working knowledge of drafting processes.
- Strong safety focus and ability to work collaboratively with a team and customers.
