About the Role
The Ore Preparation Area is a critical component of the steelmaking process, responsible for producing high-quality sinter for the blast furnace. As a Mechanical Fitter with Ventia, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Sinter Plant and Raw Materials Handling Area.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical equipment, including rotating equipment and conveyor systems
- Collaborate with the operations team to identify and implement process improvements
- Work closely with the engineering team to design and implement modifications to equipment and processes
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations
What You'll Need
- Australian Recognised Trade Qualification (Mechanical Fitter/Machinist)
- Recent work experience in a heavy industrial environment, preferably with rotating equipment
- Strong commitment to safe work practices and a focus on quality
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces (desirable but not essential)
