About the Role

The Content and Collections Librarian will play a key role in supporting the Library Content and Collections Coordinator in planning, developing, and implementing high-performing and accessible library content and collections for Ipswich Libraries. This position will focus on collections management, working closely with a high-performing team to deliver library content, collections, Home Library service, interlibrary loans, and Picture Ipswich.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and optimize Library Management Software and technology to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Provide expert advice on cataloguing, copyright, privacy, and licensing to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Analyze and report on library system efficiency and trends to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Lead and develop team performance and collaboration to achieve outstanding results.
  • Contribute to both routine and strategic project initiatives to drive innovation and improvement.
  • Develop policies and processes for continuous improvement to ensure high-quality services.
  • Maintain supplier relationships to uphold service levels and ensure seamless operations.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in a related field and/or demonstrated technical experience in library content and collection operations.
  • Current Queensland C Class Driver's Licence.
  • Substantial experience using one or more types of Library Management Software.
  • Sound level of proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools such as MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
  • High attention to detail and a solutions-based mindset with an appetite for solving interesting problems.
