About the Role

The Library Content and Collections Officer provides specialized support to deliver quality and relevant library content and collections across various formats and delivery platforms. This role is part of a high-performing team that delivers library content, collections, Home Library service, interlibrary loans, and the Picture Ipswich digital archive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the acquisition and management of library resources, ensuring efficient use of Library Management Software and related technologies.
  • Manage tasks and workflows to meet library objectives and service delivery.
  • Engage in complex administrative tasks and contribute to policy development for the enhancement of library services and operations.
  • Lead and support training and data governance initiatives to maintain high-quality library services for the community and align with Ipswich City Council's strategic goals.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in a related field and/or demonstrated technical experience in library content and collections operations.
  • Current Queensland C Class Driver's Licence.
  • Experience using one or more types of Library Management Software.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Sound level of proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools such as MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
  • High attention to detail and a solutions-based mindset with an appetite for solving interesting problems.
