Job Overview:

This role is focused on providing home-based support services to families in crisis. As a Family Support Worker, you will be responsible for delivering emergency care and practical assistance to children and their families.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with vulnerable families and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should also be aware of current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people, and their families, as well as have knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide in-home emergency care and practical support to families in need.
  2. Collaborate with the program team to achieve set goals and objectives.
  3. Develop and maintain positive relationships with families and other stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience working with at-risk families and children.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Awareness of current issues affecting Aboriginal communities.
  • Knowledge of Aboriginal culture and values.
