Staff Specialist Role

The role of Staff Specialist is a key position in the Department of Supportive and Palliative Care, where you will provide care and support to patients and families dealing with life limiting illnesses.

To succeed in this position, you will need to have strong clinical skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should be able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment and be committed to providing high-quality patient care.

You will be responsible for engaging in pre and post graduate teaching and research in the field of Palliative Medicine, and you should have a strong passion for education and academic pursuits.

In addition to your clinical expertise, you should also possess advanced ability to work in a specialist setting and have Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and Chapter of Palliative Medicine, or equivalent.

The successful applicant will have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Residency, and will meet the conditions of appointment outlined in the Staff Specialists (State) Award.
