Job Description:

We are seeking a senior professional to drive change and coordinate effort across the department to improve outcomes for Aboriginal Victorians.

This role provides authoritative strategic leadership and advice on Aboriginal affairs across the department, with specific responsibility for the Koori Justice Unit, Stolen Generations Reparations Unit, Truth and Justice Response Unit and Policy Reform Unit.

The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of Aboriginal culture and society, understanding of historical and contemporary issues relating to Aboriginal people in Victoria.

  1. Be an exemplar of trust and integrity, highly credible with Victorian Aboriginal networks, communities and organisations across Victoria.
  2. An extensive knowledge of Aboriginal culture and society, understanding of historical and contemporary issues relating to Aboriginal people in Victoria.
  3. A highly developed ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with the Aboriginal community.
Key Requirements:
  • Expertise in policy reform, program delivery and stakeholder engagement.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, including communication, negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • A proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and achieving results in complex environments.
Benefits:

This is an SES Grade 3 position ($384,541 - $511,862 per annum). The fixed term appointment is up to 2 years.
