Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of planners in shaping prosperous communities.
- Provide expert oversight and guidance across Council development approval processes.
- Oversee statutory planning operations, ensuring compliance with policy and legislation.
- Manage complex and major planning applications.
- Represent Council in tribunals, hearings, and stakeholder negotiations.
- Contribute to statutory planning initiatives, policy development, and continuous service improvement.
- Monitor performance, manage resources, and implement training programs for staff.
- Serve as a key contact for stakeholders, delivering consistent advice on planning matters.
- A degree or diploma in Town Planning, Urban Studies, or Urban Geography with relevant experience.
- Proven senior-level expertise in major project planning, with a background in growth area planning considered desirable.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and coach a team to meet priorities and targets.
- Robust expertise in stakeholder and community engagement, with a track record of achieving positive outcomes through consultation and negotiation.
- A curious, collaborative, and inclusive mindset.
