Key Responsibilities- Project Management: Manage key projects to ensure output is of a technically high standard.
- Coastal Processes Investigations: Lead coastal processes investigations, including hydraulics, sediment transport, and water quality.
- Coastal Infrastructure Projects: Lead coastal infrastructure projects, including feasibility studies, condition assessments, design of coastal structures, and dredging studies.
- Coastal Engineering Proposals: Lead coastal engineering proposals to secure new business opportunities.
- Numerical Modelling: Oversee numerical modelling to simulate oceanographic and coastal processes to support investigations, including port, maritime, and coastal infrastructure.
- Technical Leadership: Provide specialist advice and technical leadership to team members and clients.
- Client Relationships: Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other environmental, water, and port-related disciplines to deliver projects.
- Site Visits: Conduct site visits as required for project delivery.
- Qualifications: Degree-level qualifications in Engineering or a related field, with a focus on coastal or marine engineering.
- Experience: Demonstrated experience in coastal/marine data collection, environmental assessment, coastal structure condition assessment, coastal processes investigations, and coastal engineering design.
- Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of coastal and ocean modelling systems, including Delft3D, Litpack, Mike, and SWAN, as well as relevant post-processing skills using Matlab, Python, or R.
- Project Management: Experience project managing coastal engineering projects, including multi-disciplinary teams.
- Business Development: Demonstrated experience winning work and writing proposals.
- Design Experience: Experience designing coastal structures, such as breakwaters and groynes.
- Field Experience: Field experience using ADCP's and other met-ocean equipment.
- Analytical and Communication Skills: Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
- Teamwork: Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
