Key Responsibilities:- Develop fabrication work packages for maintenance and projects, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Create and manage inspection and test plans (ITPs), check sheets, and welding documents to guarantee accuracy and adherence to specifications.
- Select and submit weld procedure specs for client approval, highlighting the importance of quality control measures.
- Resolve welding issues during execution, utilizing problem-solving skills and expertise to find effective solutions.
- Coordinate non-destructive testing, post-weld heat treatment, and industrial painting processes, emphasizing the need for precision and attention to detail.
- Maintain contract-required quality documentation, ensuring that all necessary records are up-to-date and accurate.
- Address client welding queries, providing expert guidance and support to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Train and coach staff on quality control and assurance procedures, promoting a culture of excellence within the organization.
- Implement and monitor the Ventia Welding Management System, ensuring seamless integration and effective management of welding processes.
- Conduct welder qualification tests, verifying the competence of welding personnel and maintaining high standards of quality.
- Advise on fabrication methods per client specs and standards, recommending best practices and innovative solutions.
- Participate in safety audits and inspections, identifying areas for improvement and contributing to a safe working environment.
- Ensure compliance with SHEQ regulations, upholding the highest standards of health, safety, environment, and quality within the organization.
- Relevant Mechanical Trade or tertiary qualifications, Cert III or higher, demonstrating a strong foundation in welding principles and practices.
- Weld Australia International Institute Welding Inspector - Basic Qualifications or similar, showcasing expertise in welding inspection and quality control.
- AS 2214 (Structural) - acceptable, indicating proficiency in structural welding and compliance with industry standards.
- Weld Australia Welding Supervisor AS1796 Certificate 10 or higher - desired, reflecting a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
- Experience with Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, and Aluminium materials, highlighting versatility and adaptability in welding operations.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Welding Supervisory or Leadership role, demonstrating leadership capabilities and expertise in welding management.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting fabrication drawings, showcasing spatial reasoning and visual literacy.
- Strong management and organisational skills, enabling effective coordination and supervision of welding teams.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team, fostering collaboration and teamwork among colleagues.
- Highly motivated with good written, problem-solving, and communication skills, driving success and excellence in welding operations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), leveraging technology to enhance productivity and efficiency in welding management.
- Ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders, demonstrating resilience and flexibility in the face of changing priorities and demands.
