Job Title

Project Officer - Indigenous Science and Collections

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Coordinator to provide coordination, administrative and project support for a national Indigenous Science initiative.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with our team to deliver high-quality outcomes in Indigenous-led research. The successful candidate will have experience in project coordination or administrative support and strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Provide coordination, administrative and project management support across all stages of the Indigenous Science initiative.
  • Support the operation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander reference and advisory groups.
  • Assist in building and maintaining relationships with Indigenous communities, Elders, and organisations.
  • Contribute to the development of culturally appropriate data practices by supporting awareness of Indigenous Data Sovereignty.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in project coordination or administrative support.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work respectfully and collaboratively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • A genuine interest in Indigenous knowledge systems, cultural engagement, and Indigenous-led science.
