Industry Insights Specialist

IBISWorld is a client-driven organization that conducts industry and company research across thousands of global and domestic markets.

As an Industry Insights Specialist, you will contribute to our company's mission of helping clients make better business decisions.

  • Collecting, interpreting and analysing macroeconomic, demographic and industry-specific data to identify and clearly communicate key business trends
  • Long-term forecasting based on existing industry data
  • Updating high-quality industry reports within specified deadlines and in accordance with in-house editorial and quality standards
  • Qualitative research, keeping up-to-date with key macroeconomic and industry trends
  • Performing client presentations
  • Contributing to product development initiatives
  • Giving interviews to journalists about your assigned industries as required

About the Role

As an Industry Insights Specialist, you will work closely with our industry manager to develop and hone your skills in data analysis and industry research.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining in-depth knowledge of assigned industries and sectors
  • Conducting market research and analysis to identify trends and opportunities
  • Creating high-quality industry reports and presentations for clients
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop new products and services

Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree in economics, commerce, business or a related field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to analyse and forecast economic data, demonstrated through either previous work experience or university studies
  • Familiarity with online research techniques
  • A solid grasp of economics, financial terms and business concepts
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience writing business research articles, reports or other key documents for a business audience is a strong advantage
  • A strong interest in keeping up-to-date with economic news and current events
  • Confidence to liaise with the media regarding current industry trends
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
