Senior Lawyer Job Description

A key role has arisen for a Senior Lawyer to join our commercial legal services team. This opportunity suits a versatile lawyer, looking to grow their skillset in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

As a Senior Lawyer, you will assist numerous SMEs, startups, franchisors, shopping centres and large corporates with a broad range of property and leasing needs. Your responsibilities will include undertaking reviews and drafting of legal agreements, providing advice on retail lease legislation and broader property laws, acting for both tenant and landlord clients, and collaborating with colleagues across disciplines.

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience in commercial property and leasing in a recognised firm or inhouse legal team. They will possess excellent attention to detail, be efficient and effective, and have a strong ability to work collaboratively with others.

  • Undertake reviews and drafting of heads of agreement, leases, agreements for leases, licences, subleases, renewals, surrenders and assignments of leases.
  • Provide advice on retail lease legislation (where applicable) and broader property laws.
  • Act as a trusted advisor for both tenant and landlord clients.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines for disputes and acquisitions and disposals with a leasing component.
  • Regularly liaise and communicate with clients.
Requirements:
  • 4+ years of experience in commercial property and leasing.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in the use of technology, including PEXA.
