">Job Title:

Gardener - Handyperson

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Gardener - Handyperson, working in a dynamic and supportive environment. As a key member of our grounds maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the school grounds are well-maintained, clean, and safe.

You will work closely with other staff members to ensure that all areas of the school grounds are tidy, including gardens, lawns, and playgrounds. This will involve performing a range of tasks, including gardening, turf management, and minor repairs and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining and presenting the school grounds and gardens in an attractive, clean, and tidy condition
  • Providing a suitable growing environment for both soft and hard landscaping, including turf management
  • Performing minor repairs and maintenance as requested, as well as other Gardener - Handyperson duties in accordance with our policies and guidelines
Selection Criteria:
  • Demonstrated sound communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining grounds and gardens, including turf management
  • Demonstrated experience in minor servicing of horticultural/gardening equipment and performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks
  • Demonstrated knowledge of gardening methods and procedures, including the safe use and storage of gardening equipment, materials, and chemicals
Eligibility:
  • Obtain a valid Working With Children Check
  • Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by our Screening Unit before you start
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment
