Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver safe and effective nursing care to children and youth with haematology and oncology conditions, working closely with families and other healthcare professionals.
  • Assess patient needs, implement tailored interventions, and monitor care plans to achieve optimal health outcomes.
  • Participate in clinical teaching and education, supporting the development of students and less experienced staff.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, participating in audits, research, and evidence-based practice to enhance service delivery.
  • Maintain professional accountability and uphold clinical standards, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
Role-Specific Responsibilities:
  • Practicing within established nursing models, progressively increasing autonomy in care delivery and coordinating multidisciplinary services.
  • Providing shift-based leadership, supporting staff, and coordinating patient care while participating in incident reviews and risk management.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Registered Nurse (RN/M1) or Clinical Nurse (RN/M2C) registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and prioritize workload efficiently.
  • Demonstrated competence in nursing practice aligned with professional standards.
