About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our outreach program, you will work directly with families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, providing support and guidance to help them secure long-term affordable housing and sustainable support.

This is a permanent, full-time role that requires strong case management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a deep understanding of the complex issues surrounding homelessness. If you have a passion for making a difference in the lives of others and possess the necessary qualifications and experience, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist families in obtaining and maintaining stable accommodation after exiting crisis housing
  • Provide comprehensive case management to address needs and establish ongoing support referrals
  • Deliver rapid response to immediate housing and support needs, ensuring seamless coordination with crisis services and local partners
  • Educate families on their rights and responsibilities under relevant legislation
  • Promote wellbeing, self-efficacy, and timely access to assistance, aligning services with best practice models of care
About You

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work or a related community service field
  • Demonstrated knowledge of homelessness, its context, legislation, models, and practice
  • Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities
  • Strong assessment, case management, and collaboration skills
