Job SummaryWe are seeking a permanent full-time Disability Support Worker to join our team in Katherine and Darwin. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in implementing training and support services that maximize the living, employment, social, and recreational skills of individuals with disabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Implement training and support services to enhance the skills and abilities of individuals with disabilities.
- Promote community inclusion, independence, decision-making, and personal choice through these supports, focusing on individual needs.
- Contribute to the development of service practice through regular staff meetings, planning processes, and policy reviews.
- Ensure all service delivery aligns with the Policies and Procedures of Workforce Australia for Individuals.
- Support clients in participating in age-appropriate activities and tasks, including employment, in-home support, and community access.
- Assist clients in accessing activities and outings in the community.
- Provide direct care assistance to each client in accordance with their service plan and as directed by the Director.
- Work in accordance with the medication administration policy, work health and safety procedures, and client rights policies, including privacy and confidentiality.
- Minimum Certificate/Diploma equivalent in Individual Support/Community Services or other relevant qualification and minimum 1-year post-qualification work experience; OR minimum 2-year full-time work experience if no relevant qualification.
- Experience in delivering personal care services and/or managing challenging behaviors is highly regarded.
- Valid full Driver's License.
- A cleared Working with Children Check and National Criminal Record Clearance.
