This is a senior role responsible for executing government and industry strategic engagement plans and driving advocacy to build and protect ARTC's reputation.

About the Team

Our Development team is responsible for strategic projects, policy and advocacy, as well as enterprise, network and supply chain strategy.

These activities help to direct the company's business growth, improving the company's overall commercial performance.

About the Opportunity

The Manager Government and Industry Relations will support ARTC's efforts to achieve business outcomes that position ARTC as a leader in supply chains, rail, and freight.

The successful candidate will represent ARTC at workshops, forums, and discussions relating to government and industry, collaborating with ARTC's executive and senior leaders to drive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute government and industry strategic engagement plans
  • Drive advocacy to build and protect ARTC's reputation
  • Support engagements across government and ongoing activities such as Senate Estimates
  • Represent ARTC at workshops, forums, and discussions relating to government and industry
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience working in government or government relations, corporate affairs or a related discipline
  • Strong understanding of the local, state, and federal political landscape around Australia
  • Ability to quickly understand complex issues and effectively communicate to senior stakeholders
  • Ability to persuasively articulate an organisation's advocacy position via government submissions, briefing papers, presentations or direct engagement
  • Ability to provide sound, strategic advice, as well as execute tactical tasks
  • Experience working with government, industry partners and a broad set of external stakeholders
  • B2 B and key marketing experience to help drive business outcomes in line with business strategy
