Child and Adolescent Counsellor

We are looking for a talented and creative child and adolescent Counsellor to join our team. Your interest in play based therapies, alongside the ability to connect with children, will make a real difference in the lives of children and their families.
You will work with a wide range of clients across our Star4Kids funded program, NDIS, foster care and other referral streams. You will be part of a small team with access to responsive support, professional development, and the opportunity to create a work context based on your interests.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide individual counselling to support the emotional, behavioural and mental health needs of children and young people.
- Build strong relationships with parents and carers, developing empathic and connected relationships.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to develop individualised treatment plans and goals.
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to client care.
- Potential opportunities to facilitate group therapy sessions and workshops.
- Be open to working across a diverse range of contexts i.e. office, home, school.

**We are looking for**:
- AQF Level 7 bachelors degree in counselling or a related mental health discipline
- Membership or eligibility for membership with the relevant professional association (e.g. ACA, PACFA).
- Public and profressional liability insurance
- Current driver's license, Working with children check & NDIS workers clearance
- Police check (valid within last 6 months)
- Demonstrated experience in providing therapeutic interventions to children, young people and families.
- Strong knowledge of child development, neurodiversity, play therapy and family systems.
- Experience working with children and families who have experienced interpersonal and intergenerational trauma
Part Time - up to 3 days.
Expected start date: 03/03/25
**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: $64,425.00 - $80,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 15 - 22 per week
