About the Role

At OneSchool Global, we are committed to providing a supportive learning environment for all students. As an Education Support Specialist, you will play a key role in promoting inclusive education and overseeing the academic welfare of students with diverse educational needs.

Responsibilities

You will report directly to the Campus Principal and work closely with subject teachers to raise standards of achievement for students with diverse educational needs. This will involve leading a team of Learning Support Officers in:

  • planning and coordinating additional support for students and fostering their holistic development;
  • providing guidance and support to teaching staff in developing and implementing programs that cater to students' diverse learning needs;
  • advocating for the school's Strategic Plan values, vision, goals, and pathways.

Safety and Well-being

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and promoting a child-safe culture within the school. Under the direction of the Campus Principal, they will assist in strategies to embed this culture, monitor individual performance, and review the effectiveness of these strategies periodically. This requires a deep understanding of the protection and behavior of children who may be vulnerable or at risk.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • experience in teaching school-age students with diverse educational needs;
  • effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with colleagues;
  • a commitment to ongoing professional learning;
  • leadership experience and the ability to work effectively in a team;
  • succesful classroom teaching practice experience;
  • the ability to implement differentiated learning strategies;
  • experience with formal testing and reporting to parents;
  • current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
