Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Preconstruction Estimator to join our team. As a Preconstruction Estimator, you will play a critical role in developing conceptual and hard bids for various markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
  • Conduct take-offs and prepare detailed material, labor, and equipment cost breakdowns.
  • Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and stakeholders to ensure accurate estimates.
  • Develop options and recommend best value solutions based on cost, engineering, quality, or availability of materials.
  • Source and evaluate supplier quotes to ensure competitiveness and compliance with project requirements.
  • Prepare bid proposals, including scope of work, cost estimates, and project timelines.
  • Stay current with industry trends, materials pricing, and construction techniques to ensure accurate estimates.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of conceptual estimating and lump sum estimating techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret installation manuals, specifications, and technical drawings.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred with 7-10 years of experience in mechanical equipment installation estimation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in estimating software (WinEst) and Microsoft Office Suite.
