Security Architect Position

Cutting-edge software is used by the world's most complex mining operations, and cybersecurity professionals play a vital role in protecting it.

Deswik delivers innovative technology across the mine planning value chain as a global team of 470+ mining professionals, software developers, and mathematicians. The Security Architect will lead the development of secure, high-performance solutions across our product suite.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with software and IT teams to embed security into design, development, and delivery.
  • Lead the design and implementation of security controls across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
  • Conduct threat modelling, risk assessments, and security reviews for new and existing systems.
  • Define and enforce security architecture principles, standards, and policies.
  • Champion secure development practices (DevSecOps, SDLC) and mentor technical teams.
  • Evaluate and recommend security technologies (e.g., SIEM, EDR, Zero Trust frameworks).
  • Translate security strategy into actionable architecture and reusable design patterns.
  • Support incident response and forensic investigations as a subject matter expert.
  • Stay ahead of emerging threats and proactively strengthen Deswik's security posture.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years in cybersecurity roles, including 2+ years in security architecture or senior engineering.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Certifications such as AWS Security Specialty, CISSP, or CISM are highly desirable.
  • Deep expertise in cloud security (AWS/Azure), identity and access management, and compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST).
  • Experience with secure development practices and DevSecOps.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence across technical and business teams.
