About the Role

Athena Mortgage is seeking an experienced Credit Risk Assessor to join our team. As a key member of our lending team, you will be responsible for assessing residential home loan applications and making informed decisions within our credit risk appetite.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver an end-to-end service for consumers, from application assessment to fulfillment.
  • Communicate with customers and brokers to workshop applications and provide decision outcomes.
  • Assess consumer residential home loan applications within our credit risk appetite and make decisions within your delegated lending authority.
  • Manage a pipeline of applications, providing a seamless journey for customers and brokers.
  • Ensure all risk and compliance standards are maintained.
  • Support colleagues and contribute to team performance.
  • Act as a leader in the company, promoting a positive and dynamic culture.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of residential credit assessment experience, with a focus on self-employed applications.
  • Experience assessing complex loans, including commercial, trust, and company loans.
  • Ability to read and understand company and trust financials.
  • Delegated Lending Authority.
  • Confidence in communicating with customers and brokers to deliver decision outcomes.
  • Ability to work within policy and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Experience managing a pipeline of assessment applications.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Driven and self-motivated, with a focus on exceeding targets and striving for excellence.
